Giving You the Green Light to Drive Safe for Life

Pass Plus - Carlisle

Pass Plus - Carlisle is a bit misleading, because Pass Plus should be fun and informative as well as a bit more challenging and interesting.  Being a Pass Plus Instructor gives me to chance to go further afield. You will only start and end in Carlisle.

After that we will explore roads and areas not previously covered.  So be prepared for a bit of fun and some new sights to see.

Pass Plus is voluntary and available to everyone who has just passed their test who want to improve their driving skills. It is aimed at promoting "Safe Driving for Life", the Driving Standars Agencies motto.

Unfortunately the majority of pupils who take Pass Plus are those that need it least.  Serious drivers do Pass Plus, those who just want to pass their test don't.  Instead they pay high insurance premiums, go on to forget all they learnt and have accidents.

Pass Plus is a minimum of six hours covering six categories.

Enhanced Town Driving - to improve awareness and perception.

Country Driving - to get used to to higher speeds and road conditions.

Dual Carriageways - training for higher speeds and awareness.

Motorway Driving - as dual carriageways, but there are usually more lanes and service areas etc. Night Driving - night training which is completely different to daytime and needs extra attention.

All Weather Driving - this takes into account the need to adapt to all weathers.
